Biography: William J. Altier works with firms in what he calls a "participative-process consulting" mode. He helps his clients solve problems and make better decisions more quickly, objectively, and creatively, by leading their people to think more efficiently. He first honed these skills when he worked as a consultant for Kepner-Tregoe, Inc. After founding his own consulting firm, Princeton Associates Inc., in 1976, with the aid of unique situations posed by clients he continued to develop the problem solving and decision making tools described in this book. He has written extensively for business readers with articles appearing in
Sloan Management Review, Leaders, Director's Monthly, Business Horizons, Management Review, Business Forum, and
Executive Excellence among others. Bill is a Certified Management Consultant and a Fellow of the Institute of Management Consultants. An avid woodworker, he has designed and made much of the furniture in his house.
